MADISON, Wis., July 22 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin woman who says she was drugged and sexually assaulted at a Sigma Chi house in Madison has filed suit against the fraternity and its parent.

The lawsuit accuses the local chapter of Sigma Chi, the alumni association that owns the fraternity house and the national organization with negligence regarding events that took place in October 2008, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The report did not say what damages she was seeking.

The plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, says she awoke at the fraternity house partially clothed, bruised and bleeding the day after attending a Sigma Chi party.

Her attorney, Robert Elliot, says a doctor at the local hospital determined she had been raped multiple times.

After a student newspaper reported the incident last March, the University of Wisconsin-Madison suspended the fraternity for unspecified alcohol-related violations.
