MANILA, Philippines, July 20 (UPI) -- Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino, suffering from an advanced stage of colon cancer, is in pain, her daughter said.
Kris Aquino, a television host and actress, asked the public "to pray with us ... that the suffering would be lessened," ABS-CBN television reported Sunday.
"I'm only sharing this with you (the public) because you've been on this journey with us," she said, adding that she may not be on her television shows, "The Buzz" and "SNN: Showbix New Ngayon," during the coming weeks so she could be with her mother.
Corazon Aquino, diagnosed with colon cancer last year, has been at Makati Medical Center since June 25. Doctors say the former president is in stable condition, but were unsure how long she would remain hospitalized.
