DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia, July 17 (UPI) -- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say a second letter related to six bombings of a natural gas pipeline in British Columbia was received.
The RCMP said the Dawson Creek Daily News received the letter Wednesday in which the writer claims there will be no more bombings on the EnCana line in northeastern British Columbia for three months to allow the company to dismantle the line, the Globe and Mail reported Friday.
"We can all take a summer vacation including your security personnel and the RCMP who have not helped you to date anyway," the letter says.
The attacks began in October soon after local newspapers received a hand-written letter warning the energy company off. No one has been injured in the attacks, which the RCMP calls terrorist acts.
Sgt. Tim Shields told reporters the cost of the investigation into what appears to be environmental terror activities has surpassed $1 million, the Globe said. No arrests have been made, and police wouldn't say if there were any suspects.
