SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt, July 16 (UPI) -- Leaders from more than 100 Non-Aligned Movement nations meeting in Egypt aligned themselves against terrorism in a declaration up for adoption Thursday.
The Non-Aligned Movement leaders pledged to strengthen unified efforts to combat all forms of terrorism in accordance with the principles of the United Nations charter, and international laws and conventions, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
Terrorism should not be linked to any religion, nationality or ethnic group, NAM leaders said while urging the international community to redouble efforts to create a unified, organized response to terrorism in all forms.
During the two-day summit at the Egyptian resort Sharm el Sheikh, leaders of the member states also discussed international and regional issues, including the global financial crisis, climate change, the Middle East peace process, food security, energy and nuclear problems, Xinhua said.
