LUCASVILLE, Ohio, July 14 (UPI) -- Serial killer John Fautenberry was executed Tuesday by lethal injection at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, officials said.
Fautenberry, 46, convicted of murdering a Milford, Ohio, man who gave him a ride in 1991, died after lethal injections were administered, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
He was pronounced dead at 10:37 a.m., 12 to 13 minutes after the lethal fluids were injected into him. The newspaper said prison officials had some trouble putting an intravenous tube into Fautenberry's right arm.
The condemned man did not make any final statement as the families of victims, attorneys, reporters and prison staffers looked on, the Enquirer said.
In addition to the 1991 slaying of Joseph Daron, Fautenberry was convicted of the stabbing death of an Alaska miner and the slaying of a New Jersey truck driver, the newspaper reported.
He had also confessed to the deaths of two people in Oregon.
