GLEN BURNIE, Md., July 12 (UPI) -- The body of an 83-year-old Glen Burnie, Md., woman has been found by police in a home freezer, authorities say.

Anne Arundel County police said witnesses and family members told them the woman, Doris Lea Cooke, had been bedridden for years and suffered from several medical conditions, The Baltimore Sun reported Sunday.

Police told the newspaper relatives allegedly put the woman's body into a freezer when she died several weeks ago, and officers found the body Friday evening.

The Sun said an autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of Cooke's death.
