BEIJING, July 12 (UPI) -- A moderate aftershock Monday rocked China's southern Yunnan province, where a 6.0-magnitute earthquake last week killed one woman and inflicted heavy damage.
No immediate damage was reported from Monday's aftershock, which was recorded at a magnitude of 4.7 at Yaoan County, the epicenter of last Thursday's quake, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported, quoting local authorities. The area has so far been jolted by about 800 aftershocks, officials said.
Last week's earthquake injured 367 people, 31 of them critically, with most of the injuries resulting from house collapses.
As of Sunday, rescuers had moved all the 255,000 people from the quake zone to safer places, the report said. They were being housed in tents and makeshift homes, or had been put up with relatives.
The quake knocked down 30,832 houses and damaged about 625,000 more, authorities said.
