HIALEAH, Fla., July 9 (UPI) -- Police in South Florida said Thursday they were searching for the owner of a house where a tenant's body was found buried beneath the building.

Police described Nestor "Oscar" Garcia as a "person of interest," the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Jose Allegre Rodriguez, 33, was found dead July 1. Police discovered Rodriguez's decomposing body in a crawl space after responding to neighbors' report of a bad smell at the house in Hialeah.

Garcia lived across the street, but police said they have not seen him.

Neighbors told WFOR-TV they believed Rodriguez was having an affair with Garcia's common-law wife. She said she knew him "only as a neighbor," the report said.
