CAMDEN, N.J., July 8 (UPI) -- Authorities in New Jersey said a factory employee died Wednesday from injuries sustained by falling into a vat of boiling chocolate.

Police said the 29-year-old man, an employee at the Lyons and Sons factory in Camden, was walking on top of the vat at about 10 a.m. when he fell into an opening and became caught in the machinery mixing the boiling chocolate, WPVI-TV, Philadelphia, reported Wednesday.

Co-workers said they heard the man scream but were unable to reach him in time to save his life.

U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors were dispatched to the scene and the factory has been closed for the remainder of the day.

The man's name has not been released.
