JAKARTA, July 8 (UPI) -- Exit polls indicate Indonesian President SusiloBamban Yodhoyono had a commanding lead in national elections Wednesday.

Based on an average of six exit polls, the incumbent captured about 60 percent of the vote compared to 27 percent for former President Megawati Sukarnoputri and 12 percent for Vice President Yusuf Kalla, CNN reported.

Official results weren't expected until next week, officials said. Indonesia has 175 million registered voters living on 17,000 islands.

Analysts and polls had predicted Yudhoyono would win a second term.
