Six injured in Chechnya blast

GROZNY, Russia, July 7 (UPI) -- An explosive device detonated in a public garden in Chechen capital of Grozny Tuesday, injuring six people, law enforcement officials said.

Two police officers were among those hurt, RIA Novosti reported. Officials said the device was left in a trash can.

The news agency said an investigation is under way. The North Caucasus region has seen a rise in violence in recent months, the report said.
