MUIZENBERG, South Africa, July 6 (UPI) -- An 18-year-old German woman who tracked down her father in South Africa was allegedly kidnapped by him and held as a sex slave, officials said.
The South African daily newspaper Rapport said authorities allege the unnamed man, 53, held his daughter in his home in Muizenberg, just south of Cape Town, raping her repeatedly over a two-month period, the British tabloid The Daily Mail reported Monday.
South African authorities said the young woman from Heidelberg traced her father via the Internet, contacted him and flew to South Africa, where her ordeal began. The newspaper said the teen escaped when her father left her for an overnight stay with friends.
The father is now reportedly facing charges of incest, rape and assault, and has been released on $125 bail. Rapport said the girl's brother is providing her protective custody after flying from Heidelberg to be with his sister after she was rescued.
