Three injured when car hits house

WINNIPEG, Alberta, July 5 (UPI) -- Three people were injured when a car smashed into a Winnipeg, Alberta, bungalow early Sunday.

The car hit two light poles and an evergreen tree before smashing into the roof of the house at about 3 a.m. The Winnipeg Free Press reported the car rolled and then flew through the air.

The driver, a 23-yer-old man, and a 17-year-old female passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A 19-year-old woman who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but her condition was later upgraded to stable. She was found lying in a flower bed by the home's owner who identified himself to the paper as "Ken."

The small Cadillac CTS was badly damaged. It tore stucco, molding and gutters from the house.

Investigators were trying to determine whether speed or alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
