Mother said Josh Powell threatened her

PAKTIA, Afghanistan, July 5 (UPI) -- Afghanistan police said Sunday 16 United Nations workers have vanished in the eastern part of the country.
Gen. Azizullah Wardak, the provincial police chief in Paktia, said the workers were performing de-mining work in an area between Logar and Paktia Saturday when they were either taken by force or voluntarily went with unknown gunmen, CNN reported.
The U.S. broadcaster said only the workers' abandoned ambulance was found, adding that no other details were immediately available.
