SIMI VALLEY, Calif., July 3 (UPI) -- A California man was held on $3 million bail after he allegedly killed his wife and wounded three others in a dental office shooting rampage, police said.
Jaime Paredes, 30, of Simi Valley, Wednesday was accused of shooting his wife, Mariela, 24, who was seeking a divorce, after barging into the Family Dental Care clinic where she was a receptionist.
He also was accused of shooting three of her co-workers. They were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Paredes was held at the Ventura County Main Jail in Simi Valley. Police told the Los Angeles Daily Times that Paredes and his wife had been separated for several months. The couple have a 7-year-old daughter, who was staying with relatives.
Arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
