Court blocks Oklahoma City interviews

OKLAHOMA CITY, July 3 (UPI) -- An appeals court in Denver has refused to allow an attorney to interview Terry Nichols, a main figure in the Oklahoma City bombing, authorities say.

The attorney, Jesse Trentadue, who is investigating the 1995 bombing on his own, sought court permission to videotape interviews with Nichols, who is serving life sentences for his role in the bombing, and with death row inmate David Paul Hammer.

A three-judge panel on the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver said there had been sufficient interviews in the case, the Daily Oklahoman reported.

Nichols admitted he helped bomber Timothy McVeigh, who was executed, with the massive explosion. Hammer claimed McVeigh named several others he said were involved in the Oklahoma City blast.
