LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is "feeling much better" following a night in a Los Angeles hospital, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Karen Lightfoot told the Los Angeles Times the congressman said he began feeling "unwell" Tuesday. He had routine tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, she said.
A hospital spokeswoman said privacy laws prevent even acknowledging Waxman is a patient.
Waxman, 69, has represented a Los Angeles-area district for 18 terms. He chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee and was one of the authors of the Waxman-Markey Clean Energy Bill, adopted Friday by the House of Representatives.
Lightfoot would not give details about Waxman's condition. He was back in Los Angeles for the July Fourth break.
