STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 26 (UPI) -- A Swedish court has indicted 13 people who allegedly were caught in possession of $318,000 in counterfeit currency, police say.

Michael Schonhoff of the Stockholm police said the counterfeit U.S. dollar and euro bills were made in Lebanon before allegedly finding their way into the hands of the defendants in Sweden, The Local reported Friday.

"The bills are very well-done. I'd probably believe they were real myself. I'd guess this is the largest seizure of false currency ever in Sweden," Schonhoff said.

The 13 individuals indicted Thursday all lived in the same area of the Swedish capital of Stockholm, police said.

Seven of the indicted suspects have been charged with possession of counterfeit currency, meaning they each face up to four years in prison. Charges against the remaining six suspects were not reported.

The Local said the suspects were also found in possession of dyed Swedish currency that police suspect came from a bank robbery.
