MADRID, June 25 (UPI) -- Seven men suspected of masquerading as police officers to rob drug traffickers have been arrested in Spain, authorities say.

Spanish police worked with investigators in Colombia to apprehend the members of the international gang, the Spanish news agency EFE reported Wednesday. The suspects were picked up in Madrid and Marbella as they allegedly prepared to rob a chalet in Valdemoro that apparently was occupied by several drug traffickers, EFE said.

Police said they also discovered a drug laboratory, cocaine, guns, ammunition, stun guns, auto tags, fake police identification cards, bullet-proof vests with the word "Police" on them, handcuffs and 185,000 euros ($260,000) in cash.
