COLUMBIA, S.C., June 25 (UPI) -- A series of e-mails offer intimate details into the affair South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted having in Argentina, a source told The (Columbia) State.

The State reported Thursday e-mails it obtained from the anonymous source in December offer insight into the extramarital affair Sanford confessed to having with an Argentine woman.

"I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificently gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curves of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of night's light -- but hey, that would be going into the sexual details," the State quoted Sanford as writing in one of the e-mails.

Sanford admitted Wednesday he had an extramarital affair with an unidentified woman during a recent secret trip to Argentina.

The State said Sanford's admission matched many of the details found in the e-mails, which the newspaper could not verify as authentic in December.
