Pa. landlord admits to tenant peeking

PHILADELPHIA, June 25 (UPI) -- The attorney for a 46-year-old landlord in Montgomery County, Pa., says his client is remorseful for peeking on his female tenants without their knowledge.

Attorney Tim Woodward's comments came after his client, Thomas Daley, pleaded guilty to charges he used small cameras to spy on female tenants at his Norristown apartment building, the Philadelphia Inquirer said Thursday.

"He feels horrible about his actions," said Woodward, whose client was charged with unspecified privacy and related offenses. "He's extremely remorseful."

Daley's actions at his four-unit building came to light Sept. 18 after a female tenant informed police she had found a hidden camera in her apartment's bathroom.

Police officers later found four additional cameras hidden in the apartment and similar video setups in two other on-site units, the Inquirer said.

Daley used the cameras to capture video footage of female residents he could watch on his home computer, authorities alleged in a criminal complaint.

A sentencing date for Daley, who is the target of 13 civil suits, has yet to be scheduled.
