Six missionaries still missing in Yemen

SANAA, Yemen, June 21 (UPI) -- Three adults and three children were missing in Yemen Sunday and three other members of their kidnapped missionary group were found dead, police said.

The missionaries, members of Worldwide Services, a Christian relief group, were on an outing from al-Jumhuri Hospital, where they worked in Saana, when they were kidnapped a week ago.

The bodies of Anita Gruenwald, 24, and Rita Stumpp, 26, both German nurses, were found in a riverbed with the body of Young-Sun Lum, 34, a South Korean who called herself Magdalena, a disciple of Jesus, The Sunday Times of London reported.

Still missing were a British man publicly identified only as Anthony, and Johannes and Sabine Henschel, a 36-year-old German couple taken along with their three young children.

Before the kidnappings, local mullahs had spoken against the missionaries' activities and their books on Christianity had been confiscated, the Times reported.

No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnappings, the Times said.
