SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio, June 20 (UPI) -- An Ohio public school teacher has been put on medical leave after being arrested on burglary charges, school officials say.
Police in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, said Jeremy Bishko, 35, was found by police in his underwear after allegedly using a brick to break a window and enter into his neighbor's garage in April, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported Saturday.
Bishko, a middle school teacher in Shaker Heights, Ohio, was charged with felony burglary and possession of criminal tools and pleaded not guilty in May, the newspaper said.
School district officials said Bishko, who has taught seventh-grade science for five years, had been absent 33 days for illnesses before his April arrest.
The teacher's attorney, Michael Murman, told The Plain Dealer Bishko was sleepwalking under the influence of the prescription drug Ambien when arrested, and also was taking other prescription drugs for irritable bowel syndrome.
