Light quake felt near San Luis Obispo

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., June 20 (UPI) -- Northern San Luis Obispo County, Calif., was shook by a light earthquake early Saturday, seismologists said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 4.4 quake struck at 5:32 a.m. and was centered 10 miles northeast of Cambria, about 230 miles north of Los Angeles, KSBY-TV, San Luis Obispo, Calif., reported.

The broadcaster said the witnesses reported feeling a strong jolt as far south as Arroyo Grande and Santa Maria, Calif.

KSBY said the Paso Robles, Calif., police department received calls from residents but had gotten no reports of any damage.
