EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 18 (UPI) -- A member of the Scottish National Liberation Army was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison after admitting guilt in a hate crime case.
Judge Lord Brailsford of the High Court in Edinburgh said Adam Busby's "offenses are all quite plainly disturbing and very serious."
Busby, 34, sometimes called the "tartan terrorist," said he sent packages to politicians containing shotgun cartridges and threatening notes. Busby also said he sent explosive devices to Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond and to the Scottish National Party headquarters in Glasgow.
Busby is the son of the founder of the SNLA, also named Adam.
He pleaded guilty in March to sending the packages and has informed numerous journalists of his activities, The Scotsman reported.
