LILBURN, Ga., June 17 (UPI) -- Authorities in Georgia are holding a 46-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to perform an exorcism on her son.
Sandra Alfred, 45, of Lilburn is charged with false imprisonment and cruelty to children for handcuffing her son and not giving him anything to eat for three days, The Gwinnett Daily Post reported Wednesday.

The arrest warrant for Alfred says she took her son to a church for the exorcism but did not specify which church and who planned to perform the ritual.
The arresting officer said Alfred may suffer from schizophrenia and delusions.
A hearing is scheduled for June 26. No further details on the case were immediately available.
