PLACERVILLE, Calif., June 17 (UPI) -- A 14-year-old California girl and her 19-year-old boyfriend were being sought Wednesday in connection with the slaying of the girl's mother, police said.

El Dorado, Calif., County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Byers said Joanne Witt, 47, of El Dorado Hills was found dead Monday from "violent injuries" she suffered in her home, adding that arrest warrants had been issued for Witt's daughter Tylar and her boyfriend, Steven Colver, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Byers wouldn't reveal any details of how Witt died, but did say the wanted pair's car had been towed from a construction zone in San Francisco's Tenderloin district, suggesting the two had fled to the city.

Byers also said the couple should be considered armed and dangerous, adding, "We're hoping they'll turn themselves in. They're without a vehicle. I'm sure they're without money," the Chronicle reported.

Authorities said the relationship between Joanna and Tylar Witt was strained because the mother did not approve of her daughter's older boyfriend, suggesting the violence may have stemmed from the dispute, the newspaper said.
