20 drown in Pakistan canal

LARKANA, Pakistan, June 17 (UPI) -- A boat capsized in the Baigari canal in Pakistan, leaving at least 20 people presumed drowned, authorities said.

Local villagers saved four children from drowning and had retrieved eight bodies, including six women and a boy, The Nation reported. However, 16 others were still missing, the Pakistani newspaper said.

The boat was en route from a village in the Katcha area to Karampur when it tipped over Tuesday.
