BEIJING, June 16 (UPI) -- A Chinese court took only two hours Tuesday to free a 21-year-old pedicurist accused of stabbing an official to death after he allegedly assaulted her.

The court in Badong in central Hubei found that Deng Yujiao, who was also accused of injuring a second person, acted in self-defense in the incident last month, China Daily reported.

Deng had been accused of using "excessive defense" in the death of the official and injury to another after refusing to join the two in a bath.

The men, identified as officials of Badong County, had pushed, shoved and insulted the woman, police said.
