BEIJING, June 15 (UPI) -- A storm lashed east China's Anhui province Sunday, the second such in the region this month, killing at least eight people, authorities said.

Another 120 people were injured, 20 of them seriously, a disaster relief official said.

Winds with up to speeds of 65 mph accompanied by hailstones hit the province, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Collapsing homes and falling trees were blamed for the deaths and the injuries, the report said.

More than 20 people in the province died in a similar storm June 3 through 5, the report said. That storm, which also hit Henan province, affected about 4 million people.
