BARONESS THATCHER ATTENDS THE OPENING OF THE CHURCHILL MUSEUM

LONDON, June 15 (UPI) -- Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher will stay in the hospital for several days with a broken arm suffered in a recent fall, doctors said Monday.

The Times of London reported while Thatcher, 83, had been scheduled for release from London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Monday, doctors decided to keep her as a patient as a precaution.

"She's very comfortable but the doctors have decided to keep her in; it is an entirely precautionary measure," Thatcher's spokesman, Mark Worthington, said.

Thatcher was admitted to the hospital last Friday after falling at her London home, The Times said.

Thatcher's son, Mark, visited the former prime minister at the hospital during the weekend and told the newspaper his mother was doing well.

"She had a very good night and was relaxed and slept well," the younger Thatcher said.

"She has had some painkillers but was in very good order and had a bit of mischief about her. She's in very good spirits."
