EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 12 (UPI) -- Six men convicted of participating in a Scottish pedophile ring received sentences Thursday of 2 years up to 17 years in prison.
The longest sentences went to the three defendants convicted both of conspiring to abuse children and possession of child pornography, The Scotsman reported. John Milligan, 40, a civil servant from Glasgow, got 17 years; Craig Boath, 24, of Dundee, an insurance company employee, nine years and nine months; and Ross Webber, 27, a North Berwick bank teller, eight years and nine months.
Colin Slaven, 24, of Edinburgh received two years for his part in the pedophile ring and a year for contempt of court for coming to the trial drunk. Two Glasgow residents, Neil Campbell, 46, a manager for a bakery company, and John Murphy, 44, a receptionist at a sauna, got three years and four months and two years respectively.
Two more men, convicted of more serious charges, including the abuse of a 3-month-old baby, are awaiting sentencing.
Investigators tracked the group online and said they found more than 125,000 pornographic images.
