PHILADELPHIA, June 10 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania authorities say they have arrested three people allegedly part of a $2.5 million crystal methamphetamine ring.

The group is said to have been operating in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett said Adalberto "Nanao" Morales, Rafael Torres-Aguilar and Emmanuel Pimentel-Mejia were arrested as a part of "Operation Mexican Ice."

The men are being charged with distributing crystal methamphetamine. Corbett said the ring distributed large quantities of crystal methamphetamine that was "pure, more addictive and smokable."

More than 40 lower-levels members of the drug ring are part of a continuing investigation, Corbett added.
