ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, June 7 (UPI) -- Two Pakistani police officers were killed by a suicide bomber who evaded lookouts and entered a station unseen, authorities in Islamabad said Sunday.
Saturday's attack occurred a day after a bomb blast at a mosque in Dir and 10 days after a suicide attack in Lahore.
Shots fired by alleged accomplices allowed Saturday's bomber to evade police lookouts positioned on a roof and enter the station through a hole in the wall of a construction project behind the building, Dawn reported.
The blast instantly killed the two officers and seriously wounded four others, authorities said.
Shortly after the attack, police arrested one of the alleged accomplices and seized weapons believed used in the attack, Dawn reported.
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the bombing, calling the killings "senseless" and a "wake up call to apologists of militants and extremists."
