Report: eHealth Ontario CEO to resign

WINDSOR, Ontario, June 7 (UPI) -- The head of Ontario's electronic health records agency will resign amid questions about her expense account, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

Sources told the CBC Sarah Kramer, president and chief executive officer of eHealth Ontario, would step down under an agreement she reached with the board and the government.

Kramer had been under fire for spending on consultants who added such activities as reading newspapers and watching television to their bills, the CBC said Sunday.

Kramer also drew fire when it was reported she pocketed a $114,000 bonus after only nine months on the job.

Activities at eHealth Ontario had reportedly ground to a halt amid the controversy, even though establishment of electronic medical records is a high priority of the provincial government, the CBC said.
