PHOENIX, June 7 (UPI) -- A Phoenix police sergeant was recovering Sunday after being dragged three blocks while trapped in a car window, officials said.

The unnamed sergeant suffered bruises and abrasions but no life threatening injuries Saturday when a woman allegedly rolled up a car window while he was leaning in to arrest her, stepped on the accelerator pedal and dragged him for three blocks, The Arizona Republic reported Sunday.

The woman, who was not identified, was arrested a few blocks away. Police said she was already wanted on a felony warrant and will face additional charges in connection with dragging incident, the newspaper reported.
