WINNIPEG, Manitoba, June 6 (UPI) -- A bus in which a mentally ill man dismembered another passenger in Manitoba is still being used for service in Canada, Greyhound officials said.
Tim McLean, 22, was fatally stabbed, beheaded, dismembered and cannibalized in front of other passengers last July near Portage la Prairie.
In March, Vince Li, 40, was found not criminally responsible because he suffered from psychotic delusions which included hearing commands from God ordering him to kill McLean, Canwest News Service reported Saturday. Li remains under heavy security at a psychiatric hospital in Manitoba.
Greyhound put the bus back in service in a different province of Canada after "extensive restoration and cleaning," Abby Wambaugh, a company spokeswoman, told Canwest.
Carol deDelley, McLean's mother, called Greyhound's continued use of the bus "disrespectful" to her son's memory.
"I just think it's a bad thing to do," deDelley said. "But, at the end of the day, it's all down to the money, isn't it?"
