Man accused of threatening Obama's life

ST. GEORGE, Utah, June 5 (UPI) -- Federal authorities say they are looking for a man who allegedly threatened the life of U.S. President Barack Obama at a bank in Utah.

The Secret Service filed an affidavit against Daniel James Murray Thursday in U.S. District Court.

Murray, who is originally from New York and has moved from state to state recently, allegedly made a threat about Obama to a teller at the Zions First National Bank in St. George where he withdrew $85,000 over a period of two days last week, the Deseret News reported.

"We are on a mission to kill the president of the United States," court documents allege Murray told the teller.

Murray also allegedly had told the bank employee when he opened his account May 19 that people "will rise up and we could see killing and deaths" if they lose their money because of the country's financial problems.

The Secret Service said it didn't know where Murray was but that he was known to drive a blue 2001 Buick LeSabre with New York license plate ERL 1445. The affidavit also stated Murray has at least eight registered firearms.
