4 teens charged as adults in Fla. attacks

TAMPA, Fla., June 4 (UPI) -- Four teenage boys have been charged as adults in Tampa, Fla., in an alleged sexual assault on a 13-year-old boy, authorities said.

Hillsborough County prosecutors claim the four boys raped their victim several times over two months with a broomstick and a hockey stick in the boys' locker room at Walker Middle School in Tampa. Three of the boys are 14, the other 15.

The victim nor any of the others who were said to have witnessed the attacks reported them, prosecutors said. But, when a school investigation after a fight on the football field resulted in the four boys' questioning about the reported assaults, all admitted taking part, officials said.

All were charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment and freed on $15,000 bonds.
