Two arrested in Wash. armored car slaying

TACOMA, Wash., June 3 (UPI) -- Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with a fatal armored car robbery at a Washington state Wal-Mart, officials said.

The two, however, are not the main suspects revealed in photographs of the Tuesday incident in which a Loomis armored car guard was shot dead near Tacoma, Wash., The Tacoma News Tribune reported.

"They are involved but they are not the two shown in the photographs," Lakewood, Wash., Police Lt. Heidi Hoffman told reporters.

The man was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop in Fife, Wash., and has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and unlawful drug possession. A woman was booked earlier on similar charges, the newspaper said.

More arrest warrants have been issued and officials said they expected more suspects to be apprehended in the slaying.

The News Tribune said the guard, identified Kurt Husted, had stopped at an Anchor Bank inside the Wal-Mart and was on his way out when he was shot.
