CHAPEL HILL, N.C., June 3 (UPI) -- The wife of former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C. is opening a furniture store in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the local visitors center announced.

Dwight Bassett, a spokesman for Chapel Hill, says Elizabeth Edwards has leased space in the downtown area for a store called Red Window slated to open this fall, The Raleigh News & Observer reported Wednesday.

Bassett says the store will feature a mix of furniture styles and prices. It will be patterned after a charity store run by Elizabeth Edwards' mother while living in Japan.

Edwards discussed buying furniture for the store while on a tour to promote her book, "Resilience."
