Victim's mom feels no need for revenge

HUNTSVILLE, Texas, May 31 (UPI) -- The mother of a victim of convicted Texas murderer Terry Lee Hankins says she doesn't feel the need for revenge as his execution approaches.

"I don't feel revenge," Linda Sheets told Sunday's Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram. "I don't want revenge. And I don't think other people should judge him, either. He was judged already by a jury of his peers. They found him guilty and gave him the death penalty. And now he is going to meet his Maker."

Hankins was convicted of the 2001 slaying of his wife, Tammy, who was Sheets's daughter, as well as the couple's two children at their trailer home in Mansfield, Texas. Hankins later admitted killing his father Earnie Hankins, 55, and his mentally challenged sister, Pearl "Sissy" Sevenstar, 20, the newspaper said.

Hankins is set to die Tuesday, marking the 16th Texas execution of the year and the 200th since Gov. Rick Perry has been in office, the Star-Telegram said.

Sheets told the newspaper she will be at the execution site in Huntsville, Texas, but doesn't plan to watch Hankins die, saying that while she has not entirely forgiven Hankins, she found some peace after visiting him on death row.
