INDIANAPOLIS, May 31 (UPI) -- Thunderstorms cracked windows, damaged roofs and blasted power lines in parts of the Midwest with tornadoes seen in Ohio and Indiana, witnesses said.

Storms hit Saturday from Illinois to West Virginia with tornadoes touching down in Tipton County in Indiana and Clinton and Clermont counties in Ohio, Accuweather.com reported Sunday.

Several people were reported safe after being trapped Saturday in a storm-damaged building in Tipton County, WRTV, Indianapolis reported Sunday.

A new round of storms was expected to hit late Sunday from Nebraska to Michigan bringing hail, lightning, damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes, Accuweather reported.

The wet weather was expected to further delay corn planting in the Midwest, where most farmers already were several weeks behind schedule, Accuweather.com said.
