Police say Tori's body may not be found

WOODSTOCK, Ontario, May 29 (UPI) -- Relatives of a missing and allegedly slain Canadian girl say police in Ontario have told the family Victoria Stafford's resting place may never be known.

Rodney Stafford and Tara McDonald have begun planning a memorial service for their 8-year-old daughter, who was known as Tori, The London (Ontario) Free Press reported Friday.

Michael Rafferty, 28, has been charged with kidnapping and murder. Terri-Lynne McClintic, 18, is also charged with kidnapping and as an accessory to murder.

Stafford asked Rafferty to "finally be a man" and reveal where the body is.

"Until I can lay her to rest, I can't lay it to rest," Stafford said Friday. "My mind is so confused right now. I don't want to let her go. I don't. I still haven't seen any proof of her body or remains or anything like that."

Tori's grandmother, Doreen Graichen, said police talked to the family Thursday about the possibility the body may not be found.

The little girl was last seen when she left school in Woodstock in April. A security camera near the school showed her walking with a woman in a white coat, now believed to be McClintic, who also lives in Woodstock.
