SEOUL, May 27 (UPI) -- North Korea, despite international pressure to stop its nuclear and missile testing, may be preparing for more missile firings, a source told Yonhap.
The South Korean news agency, quoting the South Korean defense source, reported there were signs that the North may now use its west coast to launch its short-range missiles following firings of five such missiles from its east coast.
Pyongyang's actions this week, which have earned global condemnation, began with claims of a nuclear test, which if verified, would be its second since October 2006.
"Signs continue to be seen that launches will take place in the west," the source told Yonhap.
The North has also said South Korea's decision to fully participate in the U.S.-led anti-proliferation campaign as a declaration of war against it, and that it will no longer guarantee the safety of South Korean and U.S. vessels in the Yellow Sea, Yonhap reported.
"Various scenarios concerning North Korean missiles are being analyzed by the South Korean military," the source told the news agency.
Yonhap quoted other experts that the new missile launch preparations on the west coast may include anti-ship missiles.
