YORKTOWN, Va., May 25 (UPI) -- New headstones bearing the names of four Civil War dead have been rededicated during ceremonies in Virginia conducted by the U.S. National Park Service.

The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported Monday that the ceremony at Yorktown (Va.) National Cemetery involved laying wreaths and a reading of the Gettysburg Address.

"Two-thirds of the burials here are unknown," park Superintendent Dan Smith had said. "To rededicate these this many years later is amazing and a real tribute to what Memorial Day is all about."

The headstones were for Pvt. Robert Rumney of Company F, 65th New York Infantry; Cpl. Emile Lambert of the New York Light Artillery, Pvt. Harrison Demouth, 7th New Jersey Infantry; and, Sgt. Joshua Richardson of the 74th New York Infantry.
