Roh funeral to follow week of mourning

SEOUL, May 24 (UPI) -- A national funeral will be held for former South Korea President Roh Moo-hyun following a seven-day mourning period, family and officials said Sunday.

Family spokesman Cheon Ho-sun said the government and Roh's family agreed there would be a "people's funeral" for Roh as provided under South Korean law.

An estimated 10,000 people had passed through Bongha Village where Roh lived, paying their respects to the former national leader to leaped to his death off a cliff Saturday, Yonhap news agency reported. Roh had been mired in a bribery investigation,
