2 die in Kathmandu church explosion

DHOBIGHAT, Nepal, May 23 (UPI) -- A bomb detonated in a church in the Nepalese village of Dhobighat Saturday, leaving at least two people dead and 14 injured, authorities said.

The blast at the Church of Assumption occurred while about 150 people were inside for morning services, Nepalese News reported.

The two fatalities were identified by the news agency as Alestina Joseph, 14, and Deepa Patry, 30.

Two of the 14 injured victims were reported to be in critical condition.

No one had taken responsibility for the attack. Pamphlets marked with the name of the Nepal Defense Army were found in the site.
