Mexican soldiers nab suspected drug lord

MEXICO CITY, May 22 (UPI) -- Mexican soldiers have apprehended a suspected drug lord who has a $1 million price on his head, federal authorities say.

The National Defense Secretariat said drug cartel suspect Raymundo Almanza Morales was detained by Mexican soldiers in the northeastern city of city of Monterrey on Wednesday, CNN reported Friday.

Morales, also known by the moniker "El Gori," is thought to be the leader of the Gulf Cartel, Mexican officials told CNN.

Three other suspects were arrested along with the suspected cartel leader. Their identities and suspected crimes were not reported.
