Five dead in La. boat crash

DULARGE, La., May 21 (UPI) -- Authorities in Louisiana said five people participating in a fishing competition were killed when their boat collided with a barge.

Capt. Samuel Martin of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Department said everyone aboard the boat was killed when it crashed into the barge late Wednesday or early Thursday in the Falgout Canal in Dularge, La., WWL-TV, New Orleans, reported Thursday.

Authorities said they believe the victims were participating in the Oilmen's Fishing Invitational tournament.
